About the role
We're building a modern, measurable acquisition marketing engine at IES, and events are a core demand channel within it. We're looking for a Field & Events Marketing Manager to own our events programme end to end: both the industry expos and conferences we attend and a growing programme of owned events.
This is a step up from a traditional events role. We don't want events run as logistics with no line of sight to results. Every event you run will have clear objectives, a lead-capture plan, structured follow-up, and reporting on its contribution to pipeline. You'll be the person who turns our events from a cost line into a measurable source of qualified opportunities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

As the programme matures, there's a clear path to own events as a strategic pillar of the acquisition strategy; shaping which events we run, designing the owned-events programme, and tying it into our account-based and wider campaign activity.
What you'll do
- Own the end-to-end events calendar (expos, conferences and owned events) from planning through delivery to follow-up and reporting.
- Set clear objectives, target audiences and success metrics for every event before it runs, and report on outcomes afterwards.
- Build and run owned events that deepen relationships with target accounts and generate quality pipeline.
- Own lead capture and handover for every event, working with RevOps to ensure leads are tracked, tagged and passed to sales within the agreed SLA.
- Report on event performance and ROI (leads, meetings, pipeline contribution and cost per outcome) feeding results into the wider marketing dashboard.
- Manage event logistics end to end: venues, suppliers, stands, budgets, collateral, and on-the-day delivery.
- Collaborate across the team; with digital for event promotion, with content for event assets and messaging, and with sales and the Lead Generation Executive on target-account invitations and follow-ups.
- Manage event budgets, track spend against outcomes, and continually improve the mix based on what delivers.
