Field Officer – Electronic Monitoring Team Location: Northampton
Hours: Night shifts: 5pm – 1am Contractual average: 37.5 hrs per week (rolling rota including weekends and bank holidays) Personal flexibility is encouraged with shifts confirmed ~10 weeks advance for downtime.
About the Role
As a Field Officer for Serco, you’d install and monitor electronic tagging equipment within individuals’ homes under the supervision of the justice system. Your work will:
- Build trust and confidence with ex-offenders and communities
- Reassure safety for both the individuals and public
- Reduce prison system pressure through successful community reintegration
- Adapt to varied cases daily – no two days (or people) will be the same
Key activities:
- Travelling to client homes to fit/comply with monitoring devices
- Collaborating with Monitoring Support Officers (additional team support)
- Operating under quality control of Serco’s Rewarding Justice™ programme
Requirements & Queries
Essential
- A current valid UK driver’s licence
- Sound verbal/written communication skills (critical for rapport-building)
- Reasonable fitness (fieldwork in client homes)
- Willingness to live near/within NN6 postcode for operational needs

Security & Compliance

- Ex-offenders unable to travel are understood; holding applications temporally pending gender-based supports.

- Base Salary: £27,202 per annum
