WHAT IS ON OFFER
Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Field Operations Sampler to join our Energy Services team based in Immingham, UK.
Working at the heart of port and client operations supporting major contracts, you will play a crucial hands-on role in enabling global trade and sustainable energy logistics. As part of our field shipping team, you will carry out mechanical and manual sampling of Biomass and Solid Fuels, operate automated sampling systems, prepare samples for laboratory analysis, and transport them across our facility networks.
- Shift Pattern: 182 hours per month on a flexible shift working rota, which may cover weekdays, weekends, night shifts, and bank holidays depending on vessel schedules and operational demand.
- Travel: Travel to surrounding ports and other AHK UK locations will be required, with occasional overnight stays to support broader business needs.

To be successful at Alfred H Knight, you will need to display the following:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Required Competencies
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise clearly with internal teams and external port personnel.
- Admin & IT: Strong basic administrative capabilities alongside proficiency in daily IT tools.
- Organisation: Outstanding organisation skills to manage sampling routines and track details accurately.
- Relationship Building: Proven ability to build positive, professional relationships across internal departments and with external client partners.
- Self-Motivation & Adaptability: Highly self-motivated, with the initiative to work independently and adapt quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

- Experience of working in shipping/ports
Required Qualifications
- Valid UK Driving Licence
Travel
- Travel may be required to work between various AHK locations to support business needs.
- You must be prepared to work in other locations where overnight stays may be required.
