Operations Supervisor – Fire, Life Safety & Security

Location: Bromsgrove - Midlands

Salary: £55k, plus 10% bonus, plus car or car allowance

Are you an experienced Senior Engineer, Lead Engineer, Supervisor or Team Leader within Fire Alarms, Life Safety or Electronic Security who is ready for the next step?

This is a great opportunity to move into a broader Operations role, working directly alongside the Regional General Manager and becoming their right-hand person in the day-to-day running of the region.

We are looking for someone technically strong who is already taking ownership of jobs, supporting engineers and dealing with customers, and now wants to progress.

What will you be doing?

The role is centred around the full delivery of works from survey through to completion, including:

  • Site surveys and identifying works required
  • Preparing and supporting quotes for remedials, small works and projects
  • Providing technical support to field engineers
  • Coordinating engineers, workloads and subcontractors
  • Overseeing reactive, remedial, maintenance and project works
  • Making sure jobs are delivered properly and customer KPIs are achieved
  • Supporting and developing engineers
  • Dealing directly with customers and resolving issues
  • Supporting the Regional General Manager with the wider running of the region

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who are we looking for?

Your current job title is less important than what you actually do. We would be keen to speak with:

  • Senior Engineers
  • Lead Engineers
  • Service Supervisors
  • Engineering Supervisors
  • Team Leaders
  • Technical Supervisors
  • Small Works Supervisors/Managers
  • Service Managers
  • Project Supervisors/Managers
  • Operations Supervisors

You may already be the person who engineers call for technical advice, who carries out surveys, helps price works, deals with customers, coordinates jobs and makes sure work gets delivered correctly. If so, this could be a very natural next step.

Technical Background:

You will need a good technical background within Fire, Life Safety and/or Electronic Security, which could include:

You do not need experience across every discipline. We are looking for someone with enough technical credibility to support engineers and customers, combined with the ambition to develop further into operations and people management.

Progression:

This is a particularly good opportunity for someone who has reached the point where they want to step away from being predominantly hands-on.

You will work closely with the Regional General Manager, gaining exposure to the operational, customer, commercial and management side of running the region.

The opportunity is to come in, establish yourself within Operations and, as you develop, progress further within the regional management structure.

Based from Bromsgrove, you will need to live within a sensible commuting distance. Some travel across the Midlands and South-West will be required, with hybrid working available depending on business requirements.
