These opportunities sit within advanced engineering teams developing electronic systems and products used across defence and aerospace environments.

The Role

You will be involved across the FPGA development lifecycle, working from requirements and architecture through design, implementation, verification and integration.

Depending on your experience, responsibilities could include:

  • FPGA architecture and detailed design
  • RTL development using VHDL and/or Verilog/SystemVerilog
  • FPGA implementation, synthesis and timing closure
  • Development and maintenance of firmware
  • FPGA simulation and verification
  • Testbench development
  • Hardware/software integration
  • Debugging FPGA designs at board and system level
  • Requirements capture and design documentation
  • Supporting design reviews and technical assurance
  • Working alongside hardware, software, systems and test engineering teams

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Knowledge of engineering standards such as DO-254, or experience developing high-integrity electronic systems within a regulated engineering environment, would be advantageous.

Security Clearance

Due to the nature of the programmes, candidates will need to meet the relevant UK security clearance and nationality requirements.

Existing SC or DV clearance would be particularly useful, although opportunities may also exist for candidates who are eligible to obtain clearance.

Why Consider It?

This is an opportunity to work on technically complex defence and aerospace programmes where FPGA and firmware engineering sits at the heart of the product.

We are interested in speaking with engineers across different levels, from experienced FPGA Engineers through to Senior, Principal and Technical Lead profiles.
