Do you already walk into flooring shops for a living?
PlanIt builds software for the flooring trade: estimating, quoting, CRM and EPOS for independent flooring retailers and trade counters. It was built inside a working flooring shop in Southampton, and independent flooring businesses already use it every day.
Now we're hiring our first salesperson.
This isn't a typical software sales job. It works much like a flooring area sales manager's territory: building relationships, visiting shops and understanding how each business works. The difference is that you're selling the software that runs the shop, not the flooring on its racks.
What you'll do
- Build and manage your own territory of independent flooring retailers
- Demo PlanIt on the customer's own work: measure a room, price the job, produce the quote. No PowerPoint.
- Qualify honestly and take deals from first conversation through trial to paid subscription
- Get the customers you win up and running: catalogues, price lists, staff, VAT and hardware
- Train their teams and stay their named contact through the first 90 days
- Help shape the sales and onboarding process that future hires will follow

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
