Field Sales Engineer, Remote covering the south west of the UK

A leading technology company based in Berkshire is seeking an experienced Field Sales Engineer to join its growing commercial team. This is a remote Field Sales Engineer opportunity covering The South west of the UK offering the chance to work with cutting-edge RF and microwave technologies across highly innovative sectors including defence, aerospace, telecommunications, satellite communications, and advanced electronics.

Based remotely while supporting a business headquartered in Berkshire, this Field Sales Engineer position offers an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven technical professional looking to combine engineering expertise with customer-facing sales responsibility.

The Role

The Field Sales Engineer, Remote will act as the primary interface between customers and the business, providing technical guidance, developing tailored solutions, and securing profitable business opportunities across key markets.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities within target markets.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with OEMs, engineering teams, procurement departments, and strategic customers.
  • Conducting customer visits, technical presentations, and product demonstrations.
  • Understanding customer technical requirements and recommending suitable RF and microwave solutions.
  • Preparing quotations, proposals, and supporting commercial negotiations.
  • Collaborating with engineering teams to develop customer-focused solutions.
  • Supporting customers throughout the complete sales lifecycle from enquiry through to project delivery.
  • Maintaining accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, and pipeline activity.

About the Candidate

The ideal Field Sales Engineer will possess a strong technical background combined with excellent commercial awareness and relationship-building skills.

Applicants should have:

  • Previous experience in technical or engineering sales.
  • A background in RF, microwave, electronics, telecommunications, or related industries.
  • The ability to understand and interpret technical customer requirements.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercially focused and self-motivated approach.
  • Experience using CRM systems.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Knowledge of defence, aerospace, telecommunications, or advanced electronics markets would be highly advantageous.
