Salary: Competitive basic salary + commission + company car/allowance

The Opportunity
We are a UK-based specialist distributor of control valves and associated flow-control equipment, supplying customers across a range of industrial sectors.
Due to expansion, we are looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Field Sales Engineer to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in industrial sales, process control, valves, instrumentation, or a related technical field who enjoys developing customer relationships and winning new business.
You will be responsible for managing and growing an existing customer base while actively identifying and developing new opportunities across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
- Identify, prospect and win new customers and business opportunities.
- Visit customers and prospective customers throughout the UK – predominantly North of Birmingham.
- Understand customer applications and recommend appropriate control valve solutions.
- Prepare quotations, negotiate commercial terms and follow opportunities through to order.
- Work closely with our manufacturers, suppliers, and internal technical teams to develop suitable solutions.
- Develop relationships with end users, contractors, resellers and service companies.
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and provide regular forecasts.
- Attend customer meetings, exhibitions and industry events.
- Attend supplier training.
- Monitor market developments, competitors and emerging opportunities.
- Achieve agreed sales and gross-margin targets.

About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in B2B technical or industrial sales.
- Ideally familiar with control valves, process valves, instrumentation, flow control or process engineering.
- Confident discussing technical products and applications with engineers and purchasing teams.
- Commercially aware with a proven ability to develop sales opportunities.
- Comfortable working independently in a field-based role.
- A strong communicator and relationship builder.
- Organised, self-motivated and driven to achieve results.
- Comfortable travelling throughout the UK when required.
- A full UK driving licence holder.

Control valve experience is highly desirable, but we will also consider candidates from closely related industrial sectors who have the right technical and commercial aptitude.
