🚨 FIELD SALES EXECUTIVE | EDINBURGH 🚨
The role
A long-established, family-run business is creating its first field sales role in Edinburgh. With no one currently on the patch, every account you win will be new business. You'll visit pubs, cafés, delis, restaurants, hotels, butchers, schools, and care homes, speaking with owners, chefs, catering staff, and facilities managers. The service is easy to explain: freshly sharpened knives are left with the customer while theirs are taken away to be sharpened, on a one, two, or four-week rotation. Your job is to set up free trials and turn them into regular orders. It's a high-activity role, with around 60 new business visits a day and a target of 12 trials, all logged on a mobile app. You'll start with an induction at head office, shadow experienced reps, and spend time out with the delivery drivers.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
