Field Sales Executive - Leicester & Peterborough Territory (Grocery)

Client: Pladis
Role: Field Sales Executive
Location: Field-based (Leicester & Peterborough Territory)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: £30,217.40 OTE per annum (£26,276 basic salary + £3,941.40 bonus opportunity paid quarterly based on KPI achievement)
Plus: Company Car, Fuel Card, Mobile Phone & Technology Provided

What is a Field Sales Executive?

As a Field Sales Executive representing Pladis, you'll visit major grocery retailers across your territory, helping drive growth for household favourites such as McVitie's Digestives, Chocolate Digestives, Jaffa Cakes, Hobnobs, Jacob's Crackers and Penguin Bars and many more, with over 50 new lines added in 2026. You'll work closely with store teams to:

  • Increase product availability
  • Secure additional display space
  • Deliver impactful promotions
  • Influence store decisions
  • Identify opportunities to drive sales growth

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Visit stores daily in line with your journey plan
  • Build strong relationships with store managers and colleagues
  • Secure additional display locations and secondary sitings
  • Ensure Pladis products are available, visible and shoppable
  • Support new product launches, seasonal events and promotional activity
  • Merchandise products to maximise visibility and sales performance
  • Use sales data and insights to identify growth opportunities
  • Report activity accurately using mobile technology and sales systems
  • Monitor competitor activity and provide market feedback

What Are We Looking For?

You don't need years of experience to succeed. We're looking for people with energy, initiative, resilience and a winning mindset.

Essential Skills

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise effectively
  • Self-motivated with a proactive attitude
  • Comfortable working independently in a field-based role
  • Confident using technology and mobile reporting systems

Desirable Experience

Previous experience in retail, customer service, FMCG or sales would be beneficial, particularly if you have experience working towards targets, KPIs or performance goals. An understanding of the grocery retail landscape, including major retailers such as Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's, Morrisons and Co-op, would be advantageous, although full training will be provided for the right candidate. We are ultimately looking for individuals with a positive attitude, strong people skills and a genuine desire to develop a successful career in field sales.

You are a confident, self-motivated individual who enjoys building strong relationships and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You'll take pride in delivering great results, be commercially minded and naturally curious about what drives sales performance. You'll be proactive in spotting opportunities, taking action to maximise them, and comfortable managing your own workload with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility. Most importantly, you'll be ambitious, eager to learn and motivated to build a long-term career within the exciting world of FMCG sales.
