I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Business
Red Star Brands is a UK-based distributor, headquartered in Belfast, Northern Ireland, that partners with emerging and disruptive "impulse" brands to help them scale distribution across the UK. Rather than working with established, mainstream products, they focus on spotting the next generation of challenger brands and giving them nationwide reach. It's fast-paced, it's ahead of the curve and it's an exciting time to be a part of their growing team.
You
- Field sales is in your DNA. You know how to open a new door, win share of space and build a display that stops someone mid-aisle.
- You plan your day properly. Focused to deliver efficiency and making every call count.
- You are someone who wants to take ownership of your territory, build a network and drive brands throughout your customers.
