Field Sales Representative

Job Description:

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Field Sales Representative at Richardson RFPD, part of Arrow Electronics, you will be responsible for developing business, creating demand, and growing revenue across the UK and Ireland supporting our Energy and Power market. This is a remote-based commercial role with regular customer visits, focused on building strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.

You will work closely with engineers, supplier teams, and internal commercial teams to identify customer needs, support technical discussions, and help customers select the right electronic component solutions for their projects.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

  • Develop and grow business across the UK and Ireland by identifying new customer opportunities, creating demand, and supporting the full sales cycle from opportunity identification to closing business.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, engineers, buyers, and internal stakeholders, acting as a trusted commercial contact for your customer base.
  • Work closely with engineers and supplier teams to understand customer requirements, support technical and commercial discussions, and help propose suitable solutions.
  • Manage and develop an existing customer base while also identifying new accounts, growth areas, and market opportunities across sectors including, but not limited to, industrial, aerospace and defence, energy, and power.
  • Support opportunity qualification, deal shaping, negotiation, and the preparation of commercial proposals in cooperation with internal teams and suppliers.
  • Travel regularly across the UK and Ireland depending on customer meetings and business needs.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • You have 2–5 years of experience in technical sales, field sales, account management, business development, or a similar commercial role within electronics, technology, distribution, or a related industry.
  • You have a good understanding of electronic components and are comfortable discussing technical topics with customers, engineers, and suppliers.
  • Experience or interest in semiconductors, power technologies, passive components, connectors, cables, or other electronic component solutions would be an advantage.
  • You are commercially aware, target-driven, and able to identify customer needs, business potential, and revenue opportunities.
  • You have strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • You are self-sufficient, proactive, and comfortable managing your own customer base and priorities in a field-based environment.
  • You are comfortable working with customers across different sectors, including industrial, aerospace, and defence-related companies.
  • An educational background in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related technical field would be a nice to have.
