Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Field Sales Representative to develop and grow sales of Asian and Oriental food products across retail stores, restaurants, takeaways, wholesalers, and catering businesses. The successful candidate will build strong customer relationships, identify new business opportunities, and ensure excellent service while achieving sales targets.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Visit existing and potential customers.
  • Promote and sell Oriental food products, including dry goods, refrigerated foods, snacks, beverages, sauces, spices, and specialty ingredients.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with independent retailers, supermarkets, restaurants, and food service customers.
  • Identify new sales opportunities and actively generate new business accounts.
  • Drive sales growth by converting leads into active customers through proactive prospecting, cold calling, door to door, networking, referrals, and face-to-face meetings.
  • Conduct product presentations, sampling activities, and promotional campaigns.
  • Negotiate pricing, discounts, and supply agreements within company guidelines.
  • Monitor stock levels and advise customers on product selection and ordering.
  • Ensure customers are informed about new product launches, seasonal promotions, and special offers.
  • Gather market intelligence on competitors, pricing trends, and customer preferences.
  • Achieve monthly sales and revenue targets.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer visits, sales activities, and pipeline opportunities using CRM systems.
  • Resolve customer issues promptly and coordinate with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Previous experience in field sales, FMCG sales, food wholesale, or food distribution.
  • Knowledge of Asian, Oriental, or international food products.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with a proven ability to achieve sales targets.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and travel regularly within the assigned territory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
  • Multilingual skills (e.g., Mandarin, Cantonese, or other Asian languages) are advantageous.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Salary

Up to £45,000.00 + Commission based on targets
