Field Service & Product Support Engineer
We are seeking a highly capable Technical Support and Service Engineer with a strong background in auto-electrical, electro-hydraulic, and mobile equipment systems. This role is ideally suited to an individual who has progressed through a technical apprenticeship and developed extensive hands-on experience within the construction, agricultural, plant, or off-highway machinery sectors.
The successful candidate will be the primary technical expert supporting advanced tiltrotator systems and excavator attachment solutions. They will diagnose complex electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues, support product development and testing activities, and provide technical guidance to customers, dealers, and service partners. A proactive, solution-focused approach and a passion for solving challenging technical problems are essential.
Essential
- Technical apprenticeship in Land-Based Engineering, Plant Machinery, Automotive Engineering, Auto-Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Level 2/3 NVQ in Land-Based Engineering (Plant Machinery), IMI Level 3 Diploma in Auto-Electrical and Mobile Electrical Operations, or equivalent vocational qualification.
- 3+ years' experience working with construction equipment, agricultural machinery, mobile plant, or other heavy equipment.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across electrical, electro-hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Experience supporting, maintaining, installing, and troubleshooting mobile machinery and attachment systems.
- Good understanding of electrical systems including wiring looms, sensors, control units, CAN Bus systems, and electro-hydraulic controls.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Experience delivering technical support to customers, dealers, and service technicians.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage complex technical issues through to resolution.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical matters clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Desirable
- Supervisory, team leader, or management experience gained within a service, engineering, or technical support environment.
- Experience with tiltrotators, excavator attachments, construction machinery, or agricultural equipment.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic systems and mobile hydraulics.
- Experience using SolidWorks for component design, product modifications, or technical drawing review.
- Knowledge of control systems, electro-hydraulic technology, and machine automation.
- Understanding of ISO, EN, CE, and UKCA machinery requirements.
- Experience conducting product testing, validation, and root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with aftermarket support, dealer network support, and technical training delivery.
