Hitachi Field Service Apprentice Opportunity

Hitachi has an exciting Field Service Apprentice opportunity that starts in October 2026. This role offers both college and on-site training.

This apprenticeship offers an exciting opportunity to join the High Voltage Service team and develop practical engineering skills while working towards a recognised engineering qualification. The role combines academic study with hands-on field experience supporting the installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and servicing of Hitachi Energy High Voltage equipment.

The apprentice will gain experience working alongside skilled engineers on customer sites and Hitachi Energy projects, supporting a range of High Voltage products including Generator Circuit Breakers (GCB), Dead Tank Breakers (DTB), Live Tank Breakers (LTB), protection and control systems, operating mechanisms, monitoring systems, and associated ancillary equipment.

This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic about engineering, willing to learn, adaptable to changing environments, and committed to developing a career within the power industry.

Throughout the programme, the apprentice will receive structured training, mentoring, and practical development opportunities designed to build technical competence, professional confidence, and a strong understanding of High Voltage field service operations.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
