Jobstore Field Service Engineer Opportunity
Jobstore are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join our client's national team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing on-site technical support, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of equipment and systems in sterile, medical, and or clean room environments.
This role will be based in North London/Home Counties areas.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilize your technical expertise in this innovative and dynamic environment, ensuring optimal operation and customer satisfaction. The position requires a proactive approach, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently across various locations.
Duties
- Conduct on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems to ensure operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with installation and project engineers to troubleshoot and resolve client-site problems.
- Complete comprehensive site visit documentation, including detailed reports, modification records, and other required documents.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with relevant teams and external customers.
- Actively contribute to the development and implementation of field service best practices across the organisation.
- Provide comprehensive service, maintenance, repair, commissioning, and validation services for the following types of equipment:
- Microbiological Safety Cabinets
- Horizontal Laminar Flow Cabinets
- Vertical Laminar Flow Cabinets
- Positive and Negative Pressure Isolators
- Glove Boxes
- Powder Control Booths
- Fume Cupboards
- Air Showers
- Clean Rooms
- Transportable Sterile Suites
- Air Handling Systems and Controls
- Operating Theatres
- Containment Suites

Skills Required
- Proven engineering expertise in a sterile environment, preferably with BTECH/ONC qualification in an engineering discipline.
- Experience in some or all of the following areas is also highly desirable:
- ISO 9001 Quality systems
- Working under GMP conditions
- Maintaining and certifying equipment to British, European, or International Standards (BS EN 12469, ISO 14644, HTM03-01, GMP, P601)
- PLC-based control systems
- IIE 18th Edition
- Validation procedures, typically Installation and Operational Qualification (IQ/OQ)
- Control and Instrumentation systems
- Calibration systems
- Laboratory-type biomedical equipment
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Prior field service experience in a relevant technical field.
- A flexible approach to travel, with a willingness to accommodate occasional customer visits outside of regular working hours (compensated at an enhanced overtime rate).
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, with strong self-management skills to achieve key targets and goals.
- Proficient IT and analytical skills.
