THE ROLE

As a Field Service Engineer at Kempower, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the ever-evolving EV market. On a typical day, you'll diagnose complex faults, offer guidance to customers/service partners and provide on-site hands-on resolutions, making a direct impact on our mission to revolutionize transportation.

ROLE SPECIFICS:

  • Diagnose and repair Kempower EV charging systems on customer sites across the UK & Ireland, resolving electrical, software, networking and charging-related faults to maximize charger uptime.
  • Perform commissioning, maintenance and corrective service activities, including component replacement, system testing and root cause analysis of complex technical issues.
  • Use remote diagnostics and service tools such as Jira, ChargEye and Teams to investigate faults, document findings and support customers and service partners efficiently.
  • Work closely with customers, service partners and internal technical teams, providing professional technical guidance, escalation support and clear communication throughout the service process.
  • Maintain the highest standards of safety, quality and documentation, ensuring all field activities comply with UK electrical regulations, company procedures and customer site requirements.

At Kempower we work hybrid. However, this position requires frequent on-site visits to customer sites across the entirety of the UK and Ireland, and may also include a degree of international travel for training. Occasional presence at our UK office in Bedford is also expected for material handling. A company-provided commercial vehicle is available for work-related travel.

WHAT HELPS YOU SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE

  • Relevant qualifications in Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, and/or strong equivalent experience
  • Customer-centric mindset and good communication skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage several priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment
  • Proactive and collaborative mindset
  • Flexibility to travel extensively, both domestically and internationally
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English
