Full-Time | Field & Base Hybrid

My client specialises in advanced condition monitoring and partial discharge (PD) detection equipment, helping power transmission and distribution operators identify faults early and prevent unplanned outages.

They are looking for a hands-on Field Service Engineer to install, commission, and maintain bespoke monitoring systems across UK client sites, while supporting technical operations from its Glasgow base.

What You’ll Do

  • Install, commission, test, and troubleshoot bespoke PD detection and monitoring equipment across client assets.
  • Conduct diagnostic investigations and scheduled preventive maintenance on hardware and software.
  • Provide on-site client training, remote technical support, and detailed service reports.
  • Collaborate directly with design and product teams, relaying field insights to drive product improvements.

Location & Travel Logistics

  • Base Location: You must live within an easy daily commute of Glasgow. When not out on customer sites, you will be working on-site at our Glasgow facility.
  • Transport: A company van is provided for all client visits and field operations. You will need your own reliable transport for commuting to and from the base facility.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong technical background in Electro-Mechanical/Multiskilled/ Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Power Systems, or equivalent field experience.
  • Proven track record in field service, commissioning, and hands-on electro-mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with high-voltage (HV) environments (training will be provided), condition monitoring, or partial discharge detection is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent customer-facing communication and clear technical reporting skills.
  • Valid UK Driving Licence.
