Field Service Engineer

Location: Midlands

Department: Service & Commissioning

Reports To: Service Coordinator

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join our Service & Commissioning team. You will be responsible for installing, commissioning, servicing, and repairing smoke and fire damper control systems and related equipment at customer sites.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong electrical knowledge, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a customer-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, service, and repair smoke and fire damper control systems and interfaces.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and control system faults on-site and remotely.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive service work.
  • Produce detailed service reports and technical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and site requirements.
  • Work closely with internal engineering and support teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Manage service calls and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and service stock.
  • Provide feedback to support product and service improvements.

What We're Looking For

  • Time-served electrician with strong electrical and electronic control systems experience.
  • Fully qualified electrician (minimum 17th Edition / BS 7671).
  • Proven experience in a Field Service Engineer or similar role.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Good understanding of electrical circuits and control panels.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
  • Must be willing to travel extensively and stay away from home when required (including overnight stays).
  • Full UK driving licence.
