Job Role – Field Service Engineer

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Field Service Engineer to join a well-established and growing engineering business. Covering customer sites across the South of England, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of a wide range of industrial equipment, ensuring customers receive a first-class service.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Field Service Engineer (Must Have)

  • Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer or Maintenance Engineer
  • Strong electrical and/or mechanical engineering background
  • Experience working in automated environment (Manufacturing or Industrial)
  • Engineering qualification (minimum Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Must live within a 40-mile radius of Reading
  • Willingness to travel across the South of England

Essential Requirements of the Field Service Engineer

  • Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing industrial or manufacturing equipment
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills on electrical and mechanical systems
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
  • Good understanding of health and safety procedures
  • Flexible approach to travel and occasional overtime

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics or automated machinery
  • PLC fault-finding experience
  • Installation and commissioning experience
  • Previous experience working within manufacturing, industrial, packaging or material handling environments
