Job Title: Field Service Engineer – Scientific & Analytical Instrumentation
Location: UK-wide, home-based regional roles
Salary: Ranging from £35k-£50k depending on experience.
Overview:
Scientia Talent are working with well-established scientific and analytical instrumentation manufacturers who are growing their UK field service teams. Their instruments are used by pharmaceutical, food and beverage, chemical and research customers for quality control, process control and R&D, where accuracy and uptime really matter.
They are now looking for Field Service Engineers across a range of UK regions (including but not limited to Scotland, West Midlands, London, Lancashire) to install, service, calibrate and repair high-end instrumentation. You won't be expected to know every instrument on day one. Full product training is provided, and the right attitude and a genuine interest in technology matter just as much as the kit you work on today.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and calibration of scientific and analytical instruments at customer sites
- Diagnose and repair faults on site, in-house and through remote support
- Install new systems and train customers on operation and routine maintenance
- Support customers across pharmaceutical, food and beverage, chemical, petrochemical, academic and research laboratories
- Manage your own regional diary, van stock and test equipment
- Keep accurate service records, calibration certificates and reports in the CRM system
- Work flexibly with the wider service team on larger multi-instrument contracts, including occasional overnight stays

Essential Requirements:
- HNC or equivalent in an engineering or science discipline, or equivalent technical experience or forces training
- Field service experience on technical equipment. Laboratory or analytical instrumentation is ideal, but experience from related industries will also be considered
- Strong electronic and electromechanical fault-finding skills, with confidence using test equipment
- Clear communication skills and a customer-first approach
- Full, clean UK driving licence and willingness to travel across your region
