Astute’s Power Team is partnering with a leading energy supply manufacturer with a commitment to professional development and sustainability, to recruit a Field Service Engineer to cover the Oxfordshire & Bucks regions.

The strategically important Field Service Engineer role comes with a salary of up to £48,000 basic doe, plus overtime, door to door travel pay, a 1 in 4 weekend days callout rota and 25 days holiday + bank holidays.

Responsibilities and duties of the Field Service Engineer role

Reporting To The Service Operations Manager You Will

  • Carry out field based routine maintenance tasks and scheduled service checks to ensure the ongoing efficiency and reliability of CHP systems as per manufacturer’s protocols.
  • Diagnose, repair, and replace faulty components or parts as required.
  • Perform troubleshooting and fault-finding to identify system issues and resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Provide on-call support for emergency breakdowns and be available for out-of-hours emergency work as required.
  • Complete field service reports, protocols and update maintenance records using company systems.
  • Ensure excellent customer service through professional communication, timely resolutions, and a positive customer experience.

Professional Qualifications

Essential: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering. Experience working on CHP units or gas engines. Full UK driving license. Gas Safe.

Desirable: OEM specific training certifications. Minimum of 3 years working on gas engines or gas CHP.

Personal skills

The Field Service Engineer role would suit someone who has:

  • Technical skills to complete engine strip-downs, rebuilds, and performance diagnostics
  • Electrical Fault finding and control systems knowledge
  • Experience in gas analysis and combustion tuning equipment
