We are delighted to announce that we are growing our Field Service Engineering team. Due to operational demands and growing customers, we are now looking for an engineer to join our 3 other engineers in Ireland.

You will ideally be located in Mid Lands of Ireland and will travel across all counties of Ireland.

This role reports to the Field Service Engineering Manager UK & Ireland. There are two Planner & Schedulers also within the team.

What will your responsibilities be within bioMérieux?

As a Field Service Engineer, your main role will be to provide a high level of professional ability in Installation, Service, Repair, and Technical Support for automated laboratory equipment in the Clinical and Industrial bioMérieux markets.

  • Mandatory to work to a high level of professional ability in System Installation, Service, Repair, and Technical Support on bioMérieux equipment once trained and must have a strong customer-facing mindset.
  • Attend training courses locally and internationally in order to gain or maintain knowledge. Providing customers and stakeholders with the highest level of support.
  • Complete accurately and in a timely fashion all administrative duties allocated in accordance with the efficient operation of the engineering and service department.
  • Manage car boot stock inventory within designated targeted guidelines.
  • Involvement in project work when required to help hit set deadlines.
  • Field service engineers will be included in any customer on-call support rota deemed necessary once training on the required product range has been complete and a road to competency followed.
  • Operate in a manner where any company provided property such as cars, tools, laptops, spare parts etc. are taken care of and used correctly.
  • Understand, follow, and support company policy and rules as well as the current Health and Safety at Work legislation.

There will be more and more IT skills required as basic networking and entering IP addresses is part of the role.

Who are you?

Studies and Experience:

  • Educated to ONC/HNC Level Electronic/Electrical Engineering
  • Proven experience as an Electrical/Electronic Maintenance Technician in high volume manufacturing.
  • Crucial is the ability to demonstrate strong customer focus.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Good communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • IT proficient and ability to learn new internal software packages.
  • Willingness to travel
  • Valid UK/I Driver's License
