Field Service Engineer Opportunity

BASIC SALARY: up to £42,000

Job Description

Field Service Engineer: Plant Machinery, Plant

As one of our Field Service Engineers, you'll be out on the road supporting customers across your local territory, maintaining and repairing a wide range of construction, agricultural, industrial, heavy line, and recycling equipment.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on various machinery.
  • Servicing and maintaining equipment to manufacturer standards.
  • Delivering first-time fixes wherever possible.
  • Using the latest diagnostic software and laptop-based fault-finding tools.
  • Building strong relationships with customers and becoming their trusted engineering contact.
  • Promoting aftermarket products and service solutions where appropriate.
  • Completing job reports using hand-held PDA technology.

Person Specification

Field Service Engineer: Plant Machinery, Plant

We're looking for someone who enjoys getting stuck into technical challenges and takes genuine pride in providing excellent customer service.

Ideally, You'll Have

  • An NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Plant Engineering, Service, or Maintenance.
  • Experience working on plant machinery, construction equipment, or similar heavy equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, axles, electrical systems, and CAN-bus diagnostics.
  • The confidence to work independently in a field-based environment.
  • Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • A full UK driving license.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, takes ownership of their work, and wants to build long-term relationships with customers.
