Role Overview

We're on the hunt for an engaged and motivated Field Service Engineer to support, maintain and improve products and ancillary equipment. Your day will include corrective and preventative maintenance. Your primary objective will be to satisfy customer requirements and ensure customer /company SLA and KPI targets and contractual obligations are fully achieved.

Responsibilities

  • Identify system faults through electrical testing procedures and with Vix software monitoring tools
  • Rectify system, on-street hardware and on-vehicle hardware faults within SLAs
  • Correspondence with customer on maintenance and fault issues
  • Maintain and drive to improve KPI performance
  • Installation and commissioning of on-vehicle and on-street equipment
  • Maintain and update documentation accurately
  • Liaise with local team and with Configuration Engineers
  • Ensure compliance of planned maintenance programme
  • Attend periodic progress meetings alongside other Vix staff
  • Ensure customer satisfaction
  • Comply with Health and Safety Standards

Requirements

We regret that this position is only available for UK citizens/Residents with indefinite leave to remain in the UK, with current full time work rights for the United Kingdom, currently residing in the UK. This position is based in Belfast.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • NVQ or similar in electrical engineering Or Level 3 NVQ or similar in Light or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
  • Ability to work independently to deliver and maintain high standards when unsupervised
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Customer Awareness, ability to demonstrate professionalism and effectively interact with customers, delivering excellent and consistent service
  • Proven experience as a field-based engineer, time-served electrical engineer or a time-served vehicle technician with a demonstrable track record of fault diagnosis of vehicle electrical/electronic systems
  • Working in a pressurised environment, meeting tight deadlines
  • Good customer relationship skills

Desirable:

  • Level 4 Diploma (or similar) in Vehicle Diagnostics
  • Working on Real Time Information systems
  • Experience of GPRS communications
  • Working with IT systems with knowledge of applications and basic networking
  • Proven experience in a similar environment
  • Knowledge of Quality Systems and procedures
  • Proven electrical knowledge to diagnose faults
  • Ability to identify best engineering working practices
