UK Service Engineer

Service Engineer role for a UK market leading supplier of liquid filling and capping machinery.

Due to continued business growth and recent company expansion, the company is looking to strengthen its engineering team with a skilled and motivated individual.

This role offers the chance to work with industry leading equipment, providing installation, maintenance, servicing, and technical support to customers across the UK. It is an excellent opportunity for an engineer seeking long-term career development with a well-established and growing organisation.

JOB SPECIFICATION – UK Service Engineer

This will be a role a classic service engineer role supporting the Service manager/Company directors and covering the whole of the UK concentrating on planned maintenance, repair & refurbishment at companies existing clients.

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and routine servicing.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and control-system faults.
  • Attend customer breakdowns and provide effective troubleshooting and technical support.
  • Carry out machinery modifications, upgrades and improvements.
  • Install, commission and set up new packaging machinery at customer sites.
  • Identify recurring faults and recommend preventative solutions.
  • Provide technical assistance to customers both on-site and remotely.
  • Complete service reports, maintenance records and other relevant documentation accurately.
  • Assist with machinery testing and factory acceptance testing where required.
  • Provide operator training and basic technical guidance to customers.
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with relevant health and safety requirements.
  • Maintain professional relationships with customers and represent Excel Packaging Machinery Ltd positively at all times.
  • Travel to customer sites across the UK and occasionally overseas, as required. The role requires onsite service and potential staying away during the week for 1 to 2 nights per week on average.
  • Assist our sales department in demonstration of machinery.

On the job training will be given working closely alongside Engineers, Service Manager and Company Directors.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS

  • Company vehicle to be provided
  • Business mileage allowance 0.15p no limit
  • 5 weeks paid holiday
  • Pension contribution after 3 months
  • Life cover while in service benefit £25K after probation period

COMMUTABLE LOCATIONS

UK and main office in Princes Risborough Buckinghamshire with some travel to machine suppliers in Italy.

REQUIREMENTS

  • You are a fully trained engineer with a broad-based knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering.
  • You MUST have completed an engineering apprenticeship or similar with relevant qualifications.
  • Any experience of servicing process or packaging machinery would be advantageous.
  • Ideally 2-3hrs from the office.
  • Clean full driving licence.
