Field Service Engineer

As a Field Service Engineer you'll be the face of the business, providing first-class aftersales support to customers and helping keep some of the UK's most advanced buses operating safely and efficiently. You'll build lasting customer relationships, solve technical challenges and play a key role in delivering the outstanding service we are known for.

Basic Salary

Up to £40,000

Job Description

Field Service Engineer: Commercial Vehicle, Transportation

One day you could be diagnosing an electrical fault, the next carrying out a warranty repair, supporting a busy workshop or helping a customer get vehicles back into service.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using industry diagnostic equipment and technical manuals
  • Providing technical support directly to customers on-site
  • Completing warranty and campaign repairs to the highest standard
  • Identifying root causes and feeding valuable technical information back to the engineering team
  • Estimating repairs and supporting the Parts and Service team
  • Promoting service solutions and genuine parts where appropriate
  • Working closely with Regional Service Managers and customer workshops
  • Travelling between customer sites and occasionally attending factory training or supporting other locations when required

Person Specification

Field Service Engineer: Commercial Vehicle, Transportation

We're looking for someone who enjoys getting hands-on, takes pride in their work and genuinely enjoys helping customers.

You'll Ideally Have

  • NVQ Level 3 / City and Guilds in Heavy Vehicle or PSV Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in a heavy vehicle/PSV environment, dealership, or fleet operation
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
  • Experience using diagnostic equipment
  • A willingness to travel and occasionally stay away from home when required
