About The Role

The company is recruiting a home-based Field Service Engineer to service, maintain and repair petrol pumps and associated fuel equipment across Brentwood and the surrounding region.
You do not necessarily need previous petrol-pump experience. They are interested in engineers with strong transferable mechanical or electrical skills who can demonstrate a methodical approach to fault-finding, personal accountability and excellent customer service.

Working from home and travelling to customer sites within your allocated region, you will:
- Service, maintain and repair petrol pumps and associated forecourt equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.
- Complete planned preventative maintenance.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and restore sites to operation.
- Replace defective components and carry out equipment adjustments.
- Communicate clearly with customers and the PSL service team.
- Complete accurate electronic job reports and service documentation.
- Manage your daily workload and vehicle stock responsibly.
- Work safely and in accordance with company and industry procedures.
- Represent Premier Service Ltd professionally at every customer site.
The role is primarily field-based within the Brentwood area, although occasional travel elsewhere may be required.
Candidate Requirements
You may currently be working as a:
- Field Service Engineer
- Maintenance Engineer
- Electro-Mechanical Engineer
- Automotive Technician
- Plant or Agricultural Engineer
- Garage Equipment Engineer
- Pump Engineer
- Vending or Coffee-Machine Engineer
- Installation Engineer
- Armed Forces Engineer or Technician
Previous experience with petrol pumps, tank gauges or forecourt equipment would be advantageous, but it is not essential.

- Practical mechanical and/or electrical engineering experience.
- A logical and methodical approach to fault-finding.
- Confidence using tools and basic electrical test equipment.
- The ability to work independently and make sensible decisions.
- Good organisation and attention to detail.
- Clear and professional customer communication.
- A willingness to learn specialist equipment and working practices.
- A full UK driving licence.
- The right to work in the UK.

Working hours and weekend rota.
The standard working week is Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm.
Engineers Also Participate In a One-in-three Weekend Rota
- Saturday: 8:30am–5:00pm.
- Sunday: On-call for emergency call outs
Weekend payment: Paid separately and in addition to the advertised basic salary.
