Environmental Conditions
- Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
- Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards
- Laboratory Setting
- Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)
- Will work with hazardous/toxic materials

As a Field Service Engineer II at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll contribute to delivering excellent service for sophisticated analytical and scientific instruments. Working with customers across research, industrial, and healthcare settings, you'll install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex equipment while providing exceptional customer service. - Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair sophisticated analytical instruments while providing outstanding technical support and customer service across your assigned territory.

What to expect:
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex analytical and scientific instruments.
- Diagnose electronic and mechanical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Provide responsive technical support and exceptional service to customers.
- Train and support customers on the safe and effective operation of equipment.
- Document service activities and prepare accurate, detailed reports.
- Read and interpret technical documentation and schematics.
- Respond to customer service requirements at short notice when needed.
- Follow applicable safety protocols and quality standards.
- Travel up to 50–75% within the assigned territory.
- Work in a variety of laboratory environments while consistently supporting customer satisfaction goals.
Keys to Success:
Education
- Degree in Electronics, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
- Additional relevant certifications are advantageous.
Experience
- 2 years of hands-on technical experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex analytical instruments would be advantageous.
- Experience documenting service activities and preparing detailed reports.
- Demonstrated success in meeting customer satisfaction goals.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Strong electronics and mechanical troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose technical issues.
- Excellent customer service and written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and service management software.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work independently.
- Ability to effectively train and support customers on equipment operation.
- Proficiency in English.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 50–75% within the assigned territory.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various laboratory environments.
- Ability to respond to customer needs at short notice.
- Commitment to following safety protocols and quality standards.
