We are recruiting for a Field Service Engineer / Junior. Ideally you will be based in Peterborough/Leicestershire/Northampton location) but also flexible to travel to Ireland/Nordics/Poland); in this role you will be responsible for the installation, upgrade, repair and preventative maintenance of Vascular capital equipment in vascular; diagnostics equipment in Cath labs.

You will be working closely with clinicians, the central dispatch and sales team. You will be responsible for driving customer satisfaction through service excellence.

Full eligibility to work in UK and travel to EU/Ireland without visa requirement is required for this role.

80% of this role will be travelling in the first 2 years.

What you’ll do:

  • Hardware/software field support includes system installation, maintenance, calibration, upgrades, troubleshooting and repair, also includes demo system maintenance and preparation for congresses
  • Document field service interventions per QA system requirements
  • Report capital equipment incidents per QA system requirements
  • Provide support and technical assistance for in-house training courses and congresses
  • Provide system maintenance and troubleshooting training to customer biomedical engineering departments and Abbott sales and field clinical staff
  • Extensive national and international travel required based as per business need

Experience/Competencies:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in electronics, engineering or similar is preferred, but not essential; experience considered
  • Prior experience in electronics service is required (medical devices/software based medical systems would be advantageous)
  • Strong electronic or mechanical engineering skills including troubleshooting
  • Computer skills: MS Office, Linux
  • Familiarity with Cath lab/operating room procedures/protocols would be advantageous
  • Willingness to be flexible, respond at short notice to scheduling requirements, work with autonomy in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Full eligibility to work in UK and Travel to EU/Ireland without visa requirement
