Field Service Engineer
Location: Ideally located in the North of England Industry: Healthcare & Medical Equipment
About the Role
At Advanced Sterilization Products (ASP), we safeguard patients and healthcare professionals worldwide by delivering advanced medical systems. We’re seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to provide expert technical support, ensuring seamless functionality of our medical sterilization solutions while fostering strong relationships with customers.
Your work will make a tangible impact by enhancing patient safety through reliable sterile environments in hospitals and clinics. Here at ASP, your expertise will directly support healthcare outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

Technical Maintenance & Installations
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and validations of hospital sterilization systems
- Conduct installations and verify compliance with regulatory standards, ensuring precision and reliability

Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, including hardware malfunctions and network/connectivity problems (e.g., IP, interfaces)
- Proactively monitor system performance to prevent disruptions

Customer Engagement & Territory Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with hospital clients, acting as a trusted advisor on all things ASP sterilization
- Oversee your assigned service territory, ensuring system uptime and customer satisfaction
- Document service visits, troubleshooting steps, and corrective actions

- Technical Integration Support
- Assist in integrating sterilization equipment within hospital IT environments
- Ensure compatibility with existing networks and data systems
Required Qualifications & Experience

Technical Background (Essential)
- 3+ years’ experience in field service or technical engineering (ideally in healthcare or medical equipment)
- Proven expertise in system troubleshooting, diagnostics, and problem-solving

Specialised Skills
- Experience working with low-temperature hydrogen peroxide sterilization systems (highly desirable)
- Strong understanding of networking (IP, connectivity protocols, interfaces)
- Hands-on knowledge of sanitisation/sterilisation technology (STERRAD/low-temperature systems preferred)

Soft Skills
- Self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Customer-focused mindset with a consultative selling approach
- Exceptional communication skills to report churn and collaborate across departments
