Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Location: Midlands
Industry: Machine Tool

Your Profile

  • Minimum of 4 years' field service experience within the CNC machine tool or industrial equipment sector role.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Technical qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, such as BTEC, City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent and/or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing CNC machine tools.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Customer-focused, self-motivated and able to work independently.

You may be required to

  • Support wider operational initiatives as required.
  • Support internal projects and implementation activities.
  • Travel to customer sites and offices in the UK and overseas as required.

Your core tasks will include

  • Diagnose and repair faults on company products at customer sites.
  • Install, commission, service and maintain products.
  • Resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and software related issues.
  • Complete inspections, adjustments, geometry checks and component replacements.
  • Liaise with internal teams to source parts and resolve complex faults.
  • Train customers in product operation, maintenance and safety.
  • Work flexibly and travel throughout the UK and Ireland, including overnight stays, occasional out-of-hours work and overseas travel.
  • Contribute to utilisation, service revenue and customer satisfaction KPIs.
  • Support continuous improvement and wider operational initiatives.
  • Undertake other duties within the scope of the role as required by the Service Manager.
