Job Title: Field Service Engineer - Road Equipment
Location: Field Based, South of England (covering the South West, South East, South Coast and extending into the Midlands. Occasional support may be required in other regions across the UK to meet business and customer needs.)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

We're looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer - Road Equipment to join our growing Customer Support team. Covering a large territory across the South of England, you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing Dynapac road construction equipment at customer sites, ensuring maximum machine uptime and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
This role offers the opportunity to work independently while being supported by a wider team of technical experts, Customer Support Representatives and managers. You'll combine strong technical expertise with a customer-focused and commercially aware approach, helping customers maximise the performance of their equipment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Service, maintain and repair Dynapac road construction equipment to OEM standards.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
- Carry out planned maintenance, inspections and breakdown repairs.
- Identify opportunities for additional service, parts and aftermarket sales.
- Work closely with Customer Support Representatives and internal teams to deliver excellent customer outcomes.
- Install software updates, machine enhancements and technical modifications.
- Complete electronic job cards, service reports, timesheets and associated documentation accurately and in real time.
- Order and manage parts in line with company processes.
- Participate in call-out and breakdown support rotas when required.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers across your territory.
- Attend technical training and development activities to maintain and enhance knowledge and skills.

What You'll Bring
You'll be a motivated and self-sufficient engineer with a passion for delivering excellent customer service. Comfortable working independently across a large geographical territory, you'll possess strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities and take pride in delivering high-quality work. You'll also be flexible and willing to travel extensively, including providing occasional support in other UK regions when business needs require.
Essential
- Recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent) in Plant, Agricultural, Construction Equipment or HGV Engineering.
- Proven experience servicing and repairing heavy plant, construction equipment, agricultural machinery or similar mobile equipment.
- Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Good understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, transmissions and electrical systems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical information clearly to customers and colleagues.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Good IT skills and experience completing electronic service documentation.
Desirable
- Previous experience working on road construction equipment, compaction machinery or paving equipment.
- Knowledge of Dynapac products.
- Previous field service experience.
- Manufacturer training certifications.
- Experience using machine software and telematics systems.
