About the Role
We are an exciting robotics channel ecosystem startup, looking for a practical, curious and hands-on Field Service Engineer to support the deployment, maintenance and troubleshooting of commercial robots across customer sites in the UK. Initially, the role will focus on cleaning robots and service delivery robots, with opportunities to expand into other robotic solutions as RoboMercato grows (e.g. quadruped, humanoid, etc).
No previous robotics experience is required. We welcome fresh graduates and early-career candidates who are excited by robotics, enjoy solving practical problems and are keen to learn. We will help you build your knowledge from the ground up, starting with commercially deployed service robots in real customer environments.
Working Arrangement
This role will initially be part-time and flexible rather than based on fixed weekly hours. Support will mainly be required around customer deployments, demonstrations, servicing, maintenance and other field activities, so availability will need to flex with customer and project requirements.
The role may suit a recent graduate, postgraduate student or early-career candidate who wants to gain hands-on robotics experience alongside other commitments. As RoboMercato's deployment activity grows, there may be scope for the role and level of involvement to expand.
Reward / compensation: to be discussed, based on the candidate's experience, availability and the agreed engagement model.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
