As a Mobile Engineer with Dawsongroup EMC, you will use your mechanical and diagnostic skills to maintain and repair our specialist assets across the region, responding to breakdowns and servicing requirements while helping keep our customers operational.

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults across specialist vehicles, plant and EMC equipment.
  • Carry out servicing, PMI inspections, minor repairs and major repair work as required.
  • Use your knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, diesel engines and electrical systems to diagnose and rectify faults.

About You

You could currently be working as an HGV Technician, Plant Fitter, Mobile Plant Engineer, Forklift Engineer or in another relevant mechanical engineering role. Previous hands on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and gearboxes on HGVs, plant or forklifts is important, but we are open to transferable experience and people who are ready to apply their skills to a varied specialist fleet.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Confidence using plant or fleet diagnostic equipment and electronic systems to record completed work.
  • A Class 2 HGV licence would be beneficial but is not essential.
