Radiometric Process Measurement, Radiation Protection & Bioanalytics

Location: Home-based, with regular travel to customer sites across the UK & Ireland, the Berthold UK office and occasional travel to Berthold HQ in Germany.

About the Role

Berthold Technologies is looking for an experienced, hands-on Field Service Manager to lead and develop our UK & Ireland Field Service team.

This is a technical leadership role for someone who wants to manage and develop a team while remaining closely involved with the technology. For an experienced Senior or Lead Field Service Engineer, this could also be an excellent opportunity to take the next step into team leadership while remaining technically hands-on. You will continue to work directly on installations, commissioning, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and more technically challenging customer projects.

Berthold specialises in radiometric process measurement and radiation protection technology, alongside our Bioanalytics instrumentation portfolio. Our Process Control systems use radiometric / nucleonic measurement principles for applications including level, density, concentration and bulk flow across a wide range of industrial processes. Our Radiation Protection portfolio includes radiation detection and monitoring, contamination measurement, activity measurement, dose and dose-rate monitoring and other specialist radiation measurement systems.

Many of our systems are configured around individual customer applications. You will therefore need to understand the application and system configuration, get into the technical detail when required and work closely with Berthold application and product specialists to ensure systems are successfully installed and commissioned.

You will take the lead on more complex installations and commissioning projects, provide technical support when challenging issues arise and help ensure knowledge and experience are shared across the UK team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
