A Snapshot of Your Day

As a qualified Rigger within Field Operations, you will work on customer sites under the National Agreement for the Engineering Construction Industry (NAECI) and have a solid understanding of power plant activities. You will undertake a range of maintenance activities across various customer sites within the UK and Ireland, with opportunities to work overseas as they arise. Working in both large and small teams, you will be motivated, self-conscious, and respectful of your colleagues. Assisting in the preparation of Lift Plans, you will maintain a safety-conscious approach with a right-first-time attitude.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Act as a Rigger for Field Operations work undertaken at designated customer sites, adhering to the terms and conditions of the NAECI.
  • Apply all specific skills as a Rigger, along with basic and general skills, to effectively undertake duties safely and competently.
  • Follow high-level instructions from the Supervisor and Site Manager, taking responsibility for your work within set guidelines.
  • Assist in the execution of day-to-day work, reviewing, advising, and resolving all potential and actual site issues related to the scope of work.
  • Help create and modify lifting plans, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and familiarity with risk assessments, method statements, and safe working practices.
  • Exhibit motivation and commitment to site programs, being aware of site processes and procedures.
  • Undergo training in any identified areas for development and support the training of lower-grade employees when required.
  • Maintain an exceptional attendance record with a flexible working attitude and demonstrate excellent time management on site, including during meal and tea breaks.
  • Support company initiatives such as Zero Harm, Talk to Me, and Right First Time.
  • Be prepared for frequent travel, both within the country and overseas.

What You Bring

  • A time-served Rigging apprenticeship or equivalent, such as NVQ Level 3.
  • Ideally, a minimum of 5 years of Rigging experience, preferably on Power Stations and Site Works.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively (internally and with external partners) and individually to achieve results.
  • Flexibility to meet the changing needs of site work.
  • Excellent communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to assist in duties outside of the Rigging role.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Good computer literacy skills are an advantage.
