Role Description
The Field Service Technician is a full-time, field-based role in Scotland.
You will support EVM customers across Scotland with maintenance and repair of customised minibuses and small coaches. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues
- Performing scheduled servicing
- Completing repairs in line with manufacturer and company standards

The role involves travelling to customer locations, conducting inspections, and providing clear service reports and technical guidance. The technician will collaborate closely with engineering, production, and customer service teams to resolve issues efficiently and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. This position also includes maintaining tools and equipment, adhering to safety procedures, and representing EVM professionally in all customer interactions.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical and automotive engineering skills, including experience with commercial vehicles, diagnostics, and fault-finding.
- Competence in electrical systems and wiring, particularly vehicle electrics and integration of bespoke components.
- Effective customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in clear, accessible language.
- Proven experience in field service or workshop environments, ideally within bus, coach, or commercial vehicle sectors.
- Good organizational and time-management abilities, including managing schedules, documentation, and travel across regions.
- Comfort with digital tools for service reporting, workload management, and remote communication.
- Relevant vocational qualifications or apprenticeship in automotive engineering, vehicle maintenance, or a related field.
- Full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel regularly within Scotland and occasionally across the UK and Ireland.
- Commitment to health and safety best practices and continuous professional development in line with EVM’s standards.
