Role Description

The Field Services Engineer is a full-time hybrid role based in Corby, with flexibility for some work from home. This role involves commissioning, servicing, and maintaining conveyor systems at customer sites, including installation support, calibration, and performance testing. The Field Services Engineer will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and provide technical support and training to customer teams.

  • Preparing service reports
  • Coordinating with internal engineering and production teams
  • Ensuring all work meets safety standards and customer requirements

The role also requires regular travel to customer locations, building strong customer relationships, and representing FMH Conveyors with professional, solution-focused support.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in field service activities, including on-site installation, commissioning, and equipment servicing.
  • Strong troubleshooting and technical support skills for mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and the ability to develop and follow maintenance schedules.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and provide training.
  • Background in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline; vocational or degree-level qualification preferred.
  • Experience with conveyor systems, material handling equipment, or industrial automation is highly beneficial.
  • Comfort with reading technical drawings, manuals, and schematics, and using diagnostic tools and test equipment.
  • Ability to work safely, follow established procedures, and adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly to customer sites.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work independently, manage multiple service visits, and complete accurate documentation.
