Field Service Engineer
Location: Bellshill, Scotland

Due to continued growth and new contract awards, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and ambitious Field Service Engineer to join a specialist engineering team supporting clients across the UK electricity sector.
This role offers the chance to work with cutting-edge condition monitoring technology, carrying out installations, maintenance, surveys, and testing on critical electrical infrastructure. You will play a key role in helping customers improve the reliability and performance of high-voltage assets while developing specialist expertise within a growing business.
The Role
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and support of condition monitoring systems located within high-voltage electrical compounds throughout the UK. Working both independently and as part of a wider engineering team, you will become a technical specialist in Partial Discharge (PD) monitoring and related technologies.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop into the lead technical specialist for Partial Discharge (PD) systems within the Field Service team.
- Install, commission, maintain, and support a range of condition monitoring technologies, including:
- Partial Discharge (PD) Monitoring Systems
- Circuit Breaker Condition Monitoring Systems
- SF6 Gas Density Monitoring Systems
- Transformer Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA) Systems
- Carry out site surveys, electrical testing, fault finding, and corrective maintenance activities.
- Remove, relocate, and upgrade existing monitoring systems.
- Produce technical reports and documentation to support site activities and customer requirements.
- Manage and maintain engineering tools, service equipment, and spare parts inventory.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company and industry standards.

Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 2 years' experience installing, maintaining, or troubleshooting electrical equipment.
- HND or equivalent qualification in an electrical or engineering discipline.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated with a proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of Partial Discharge (PD) monitoring.
- Experience within the power generation, transmission, or distribution sector.
- Data analysis, planning, reporting, and technical documentation skills.
Travel Requirements
Regular travel throughout the UK is required. Travel is typically required three weeks out of every four, depending on customer and project demands.
