Field Service Engineer (UK&I travel)
£DOE + Overtime + Vehicle
Preferably Northern England or Midlands

Our Client

Our client designs, manufactures and services equipment used in automated food processing operations across the UK. The business supports customers through installation, commissioning, preventative maintenance and breakdown response, with engineers working on machinery that forms an integral part of their production processes. The UK service team works closely with customers and colleagues across the wider engineering organisation to maintain equipment performance and provide responsive technical support.

The Role

The Field Service Engineer will deliver planned preventative maintenance and responsive breakdown support across customer sites, ensuring automated bakery and food processing machinery operates reliably and in line with manufacturer standards. This will involve diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical faults, using a structured approach to identify issues and restore equipment safely and efficiently while minimising customer downtime.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Alongside service and repair, the role will involve supporting installation, commissioning and operator training activities where required. The engineer will work autonomously across a national (UK&I) territory, responding to customer requirements at short notice and dealing directly with engineering and production teams on site. Accurate service reporting, appropriate management of service equipment and stock, and compliance with company and customer Health and Safety requirements will also form part of the role.

The successful candidate will have proven field service experience within automated machinery (preferably within an FMCG environment) with strong mechanical and electrical engineering capability. Experience of breakdowns, maintenance, installations and commissioning is required, together with an HNC/ONC or equivalent through hands-on experience, exposure to an OEM service environment and a full UK driving licence. Knowledge of Siemens PLC systems and remote diagnostics would be advantageous.
