Field Service Engineer
Energy Storage | Leeds (Hybrid, with regional travel)
The Opportunity
I am working with a fast growing energy storage manufacturer on the establishment of their UK operation. Following significant global expansion, they have opened a dedicated Leeds office and service centre and are now building the local technical team that will support their C&I and residential customer base across the UK.
This is a genuinely varied role for an engineer who enjoys being at the technical front line: supporting the sales team on pre-sales conversations one week, commissioning a site the next, and owning the after-sales relationship with the customer throughout.
The Role
Reporting into the UK leadership team and working closely with colleagues in the Leeds service centre, you will:
- Provide pre-sales technical support alongside the sales team, including on-site technical presentations to customers and installers
- Act as the technical point of contact for UK clients, building strong working relationships across the region
- Independently carry out on-site installation support, commissioning and grid connection of battery energy storage systems
- Follow projects through the full implementation cycle, from design support to handover
- Own after-sales operations and maintenance for your region, including fault diagnosis, troubleshooting and repair of equipment on site
- Manage client queries through the work order system and see them through to resolution
- Deliver O&M and product training to clients and installer partners
- Maintain spare parts inventory records held at the Leeds service centre
- Feed local market intelligence back into the wider business
- Support the build out of the UK service network and help shape standardised service workflows as the operation grows

About You
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of hands-on technical experience within energy storage, solar PV or the wider electrical and new energy sector
- Combined exposure to both pre-sales technical support and on-site after-sales service
- Strong working knowledge of battery energy storage systems, inverters and electrical principles
- Comfortable working independently on site, including commissioning and equipment maintenance
- Familiar with UK grid standards and connection requirements
- Confident communicator, able to run technical training and client conversations without support
- Long-term right to work in the UK and happy to travel regionally as the role requires

Desirable
- Degree or qualification in an electrical or related engineering discipline
- Experience across both C&I and residential storage products
- Customer-focused approach with the ability to stay calm under pressure
What Is On Offer
- Salary of £45,000 to £70,000 depending on experience, plus benefits
- Hybrid working, based out of the Leeds office and service centre with regional travel
