Field Service Engineer - UK
At Nanosonics, we're committed to improving the safety of patients and healthcare professionals through innovative infection prevention technologies. We're looking for a customer-focused and technically capable Field Service Engineer to join our growing Service team in the United Kingdom.
Reporting to the EMEA Service Manager, you'll be responsible for supporting our expanding installed base across the UK, with a primary focus on the North of England. You'll play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service through maintenance, troubleshooting, installations, validation support and technical expertise, helping our customers maximise the performance and reliability of Nanosonics technologies.
This is an exciting field-based role for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, building trusted customer relationships and working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
What You'll Be Doing
Technical Service & Customer Support
- Deliver technical service support in a customer-focused, efficient and professional manner.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance, corrective servicing, upgrades, installations and validation activities.
- Provide technical troubleshooting and problem resolution across customer sites.
- Support customers through product implementation, installation and ongoing service activities.
- Deliver Level II/III technical support to direct and indirect customers where required.
- Ensure customer issues are resolved in a timely and effective manner, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Workshop & Service Operations
- Support the day-to-day operation of the UK Service Excellence Workshop.
- Manage returned devices, repairs, testing and recertification activities in line with quality procedures.
- Maintain accurate records for repairs, testing, service activity and customer communications.
- Control spare parts, test equipment, loan devices and inventory to support service delivery.
- Ensure tools and equipment remain calibrated, compliant and fit for purpose.

Service Administration & Compliance
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders and customer interactions within Dynamics 365, CRM and associated systems.
- Support complaint investigations and technical failure analysis in line with quality and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all service activities are conducted in accordance with ISO 13485 standards and company procedures.
- Support documentation, reporting and service metrics to help drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain high standards of quality, compliance and patient safety.
Customer Engagement
- Build strong relationships with healthcare professionals, biomedical engineering teams, decontamination departments and hospital stakeholders.
- Provide service updates, technical guidance and customer education where appropriate.
- Identify recurring technical trends, customer training opportunities and service improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with Sales, Clinical Applications, Operations and Global Support teams to deliver a world-class customer experience.
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
- Work collaboratively across the organisation to improve service delivery and customer outcomes.
- Contribute to service excellence initiatives and continuous improvement programmes.
- Support future product launches and the growth of the Nanosonics installed base across the UK.
- Share knowledge and best practice with colleagues across the EMEA region.
About You
We're looking for a technically minded professional who enjoys working independently in the field while delivering excellent customer service.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in a Field Service Engineer, Biomedical Engineer or Technical Service role.
- Experience within medical devices, healthcare technology, decontamination, endoscopy, infection prevention or a related sector.
- Strong electromechanical troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
- Experience supporting installations, maintenance, repairs and technical investigations.
- Experience working within regulated healthcare or medical device environments.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and customer visits.
- Experience using CRM or service management systems such as Dynamics 365, Salesforce or similar.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across the UK.

Desirable Experience
- Experience supporting automated endoscope reprocessors or high-level disinfection technologies.
- Knowledge of decontamination departments and endoscope reprocessing workflows.
- Experience with validation testing activities including WTM qualifications.
- Knowledge of connectivity-enabled medical devices, cloud-based systems or DICOM workflows.
- Experience supporting new product introductions or technology deployments within healthcare settings.

Location
Field-based role covering the North of England, with regular travel across the UK and occasional overnight stays required.
