Role Description
The Field Services Engineer role at Orkka is a full-time position. In this role, the engineer visits customer sites to install, commission, and maintain packaging machinery and related systems, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.

Day-to-day Activities:

- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues
- Performing corrective and preventive maintenance
- Providing technical support and training to customer teams
The engineer collaborates closely with internal colleagues to coordinate parts, documentation, and service scheduling, while maintaining clear records of site visits, work completed, and recommendations for improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Building strong customer relationships
- Responding to service requests in a timely manner
- Upholding health, safety, and quality standards at all times
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in field service and on-site engineering support, preferably with industrial or packaging machinery.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Background in technical support, including clear communication of technical issues and solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with preventive maintenance practices and maintenance planning for complex equipment.
- Customer service skills, with the ability to build trust, manage expectations, and represent the company professionally on customer sites.
- Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship (e.g., in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or a related discipline).
- Ability to read technical drawings and manuals, and to use diagnostic tools and basic hand and power tools safely.
- Comfort with hybrid working, including travel to customer sites and occasional overnight stays when required.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
- Full UK driving license and eligibility to work in the UK.
