We are currently looking for a Field Services Engineer, based in North London or the Home Counties.

As part of our team of Field Services Engineers, you will provide comprehensive service, maintenance, repair, commissioning, and validation services for a wide range of Envair Technology equipment in hospitals, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and industrial settings.

Location

This is a field-based role that would suit a candidate living in the North London or home counties area.

Envair Technology are based in our clean, bright 63,000 sq. ft. site in Heywood, Lancashire, the largest containment factory in the North West, just minutes from the M66 and M62. We have invested £1m in our facility, with state-of-the-art machinery and excellent staff facilities including showers, canteen and plenty of on-site parking.

About Us

Envair Technology have been manufacturing world class clean air and containment equipment for the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries since 1972. Our mission is to engineer controlled environments that keep people and products safe from airborne hazards.

Our products, including isolators, microbiological safety cabinets, fume cupboards and more, are used to prepare chemotherapy treatments for cancer patients, discover new drugs and therapies in some of the world’s largest laboratories, and even support educational requirements in schools and universities.

Your Role

As a Field Services Engineer you will work across diverse locations to ensure the optimal performance and functionality of Envair Technology’s products, aligning with client requirements and industry standards. You will:

  • Provide comprehensive service, maintenance, repair, commissioning, and validation services for the following types of equipment:
    • Microbiological Safety Cabinets
    • Horizontal Laminar Flow Cabinets
    • Vertical Laminar Flow Cabinets
    • Positive and Negative Pressure Isolators
    • Glove Boxes
    • Powder Control Booths
    • Fume Cupboards
    • Air Showers
    • Clean Rooms
    • Transportable Sterile Suites
    • Air Handling Systems and Controls
    • Operating Theatres
    • Containment Suites
  • Offer expertise and recommendations for improving the operational procedures of Envair Technology-manufactured equipment
  • Effectively schedule and coordinate work to meet tight deadlines
  • Ensure equipment consistently operates to its specified performance standards
  • Develop and implement test procedures to assess equipment functionality
  • Investigate and diagnose equipment issues, implementing necessary repairs
  • Collaborate with installation and project engineers to troubleshoot and resolve client-site problems
  • Complete comprehensive site visit documentation, including detailed reports, modification records, and other required documents
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with relevant teams and external customers
  • Actively contribute to the development and implementation of field service best practices across the organisation

About You

To join us, you will need:

  • Proven engineering expertise, preferably with BTECH/ONC qualification in an engineering discipline
  • Prior field service experience in a relevant technical field
  • A flexible approach to travel, with a willingness to accommodate occasional customer visits outside of regular working hours (compensated at an enhanced overtime rate)
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, with strong self-management skills to achieve key targets and goals
  • Proficient IT and analytical skills

Experience in some or all of the following areas is also highly desirable:

  • ISO 9001 Quality systems
  • Working under GMP conditions
  • Maintaining and certifying equipment to British, European, or International Standards (BS EN 12469, ISO 14644, HTM03-01, GMP, P601)
  • PLC-based control systems
  • IIE 18th Edition
  • Validation procedures, typically Installation and Operational Qualification (IQ/OQ)
  • Control and Instrumentation systems
  • Calibration systems
  • Laboratory-type biomedical equipment
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
