Field Service Engineer (FSE)
AVT is a global leader in high-speed print inspection systems. We're hiring a Field Service Engineer (FSE) in the U.K. This is a great opportunity to build your career in a high-tech, customer-facing role with significant hands-on experience and growth potential.
What You’ll Do
- Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers across the U.K., with occasional travel within Europe.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair AVT’s advanced print inspection systems at customer sites, mainly within the printing and packaging industries.
- Diagnose hardware, software, electrical and mechanical issues and work closely with AVT’s regional and global support teams to resolve them.
- Train customers on the day-to-day use and maintenance of AVT systems.
- Support remote diagnostics for system and application issues.
- Maintain accurate service reports, follow-up actions and spare-part requests/returns.
- Work independently at customer sites while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and customer service.

Who You Are
- Degree, diploma or technical qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field.
- Strong technical aptitude and logical fault-finding skills.
- Hands-on understanding of electronics and mechanics, with the ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Comfortable working with computers, software applications, operating systems and networks.
- Previous experience in field service, technical support, industrial equipment or a similar hands-on technical environment is an advantage.
- Customer-oriented, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently, manage priorities and remain effective in a fast-paced production environment.
- Willing to travel frequently across the U.K., with occasional travel within Europe.
- Fluent English.
- Positive, reliable, curious and eager to continue developing professionally.
