As a Field Specialist, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient execution of offshore cementing operations while supporting drilling fluids activities where required. You will play a key role in pressure testing, cement preparation and pumping, operation of cementing equipment, service tool deployment, and wellsite quality control. Working closely with Operations Coordinators, Application Engineers, and offshore personnel, you will help ensure operational excellence, safety compliance, and reliable service delivery across offshore well construction activities.

As a Field Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Executing and supporting offshore cementing operations in accordance with Baker Hughes and client procedures.
  • Conducting pressure testing of surface equipment and subsea barriers prior to cementing operations.
  • Preparing mixing water, spacers, and cement blends for offshore cement jobs.
  • Setting up, lining up, and operating LAS systems and cementing equipment.
  • Preparing, making up, and operating cement heads (SF/SS) and associated service tools.
  • Supporting the running and retrieval of cementing service tools as required.
  • Setting up, operating, and monitoring cement units during cementing operations.
  • Mixing and pumping cement to programme specifications while ensuring quality control requirements are met.
  • Performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on cementing and laboratory equipment.
  • Conducting cement and drilling fluid testing to ensure compliance with operational requirements.
  • Carrying out mud treatment, fluid mixing, and displacement activities where required.
  • Optimising solids control equipment and monitoring fluid performance.
  • Calibrating and maintaining laboratory testing equipment.
  • Testing and treating slops prior to backloading operations.
  • Participating in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and risk assessments.
  • Maintaining accurate operational reports, testing records, and job documentation.
  • Coordinating wellsite logistics and supporting the wider offshore operations team.
  • Working collaboratively as part of an offshore crew to safely deliver cementing and fluid services.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have previous experience as a Total Fluids Engineer, Cementing Engineer, Field Specialist, or similar offshore wellsite role.
  • Demonstrate strong hands-on experience in offshore cementing operations.
  • Have proven experience with pressure testing of surface equipment and well barriers.
  • Possess experience preparing, mixing, and pumping cement systems in offshore environments.
  • Have experience operating cement heads, service tools, and cementing equipment.
  • Demonstrate offshore operational experience within drilling, completion, or intervention environments.
  • Possess experience with mud treatment, fluid mixing, and displacement operations.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of wellsite testing procedures and fluid system management.
  • Show strong safety awareness and commitment to procedural compliance.
  • Be able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary offshore team.
  • Be willing to work rotational offshore assignments.
  • Have a technical background in cementing, fluids engineering, wellsite operations, or a related discipline.
