Position Overview

The Field Support Representatives will play a fundamental part in the Maintenance of the Challenger 3 Precision Gunnery Training Equipment & Terrier Mission Crew Trainers. We are looking for FSR’s with a hands-on approach, who can work within a Maintainer & User training environment setting, who understands the user and customer culture and has the necessary interpersonal skills, bearing and ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the hierarchy, either verbally or in writing.

The Field Support Representatives will report directly into the Field Support Manager.

The role is based from our Bovington site although the candidate should expect significant amounts of travel, to various locations around the UK.

What You Will Do

  • Supporting the day-to-day training equipment activities and continuous development of user and customer relationships to provide cost-effective technical support to various locations within the UK.
  • Resolving User & Maintainer generated technical queries and managing the processing of Line Replacement Units.
  • Performing Configuration Control activities for equipment under contract by providing platform, system or sub-system build state information.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, as part of a Team, or individually.
  • UK MOD ‘SC’ security clearance needed (If no SC yet, RBSL will sponsor application). Candidate must declare any known concerns that they may have in achieving security clearance in their application.
  • Communication skills & ability to transfer knowledge, able to work within a high performing team.
  • Motivated and disciplined with an excellent work ethic, technical aptitude, continuous improvement mind-set and can demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Supporting the planning and implementation of retrofit, modification and conversion programmes and where necessary, and qualified to do so, training other members of staff in respect of their implementation.
  • Provision of Technical Support to all training equipment activities, to include equipment failure diagnosis and LRU removal and replacement.
  • Performing or assisting ‘off-site’ planned and on-condition maintenance activities for CR2 & Terrier training equipment.
  • Assisting with the installation, commissioning, and acceptance of RBSL products into service.
  • Identifying training deficiencies within user units, cost saving measures and improvements, including changes to maintenance policy, procedures, technical documentation and planning to enhance R&M of RBSL products.

What Qualifications You Should Have

As an FSR your skills and qualification will ideally include:

  • Formally qualified Electronic/electrical background.
  • Instructor/Teaching qualification.
  • MOD or Military (REME) experience.

Desirable/advantageous:

  • Formally qualified electronic/electrical vehicle systems background.
  • Turret and Vehicle Hull & Sub system installations & fault-finding experience.
  • The ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams is essential.
  • CR2 & Terrier platform expertise and competent with L1 & L2 maintenance tasks as a minimum.
  • Tracked vehicle licence (H Licence).
  • Instructor Qualification
  • IOSH working safely accreditation
