Not your average role….
As a Field Systems Engineer, you’ll play an important role in maintaining ScotRail’s Customer Information, Security and Retail Systems, carrying out planned maintenance and responding to faults to help keep these essential systems operating effectively.
Working closely with Senior Field Systems Engineers and colleagues across the team, the Field Systems Engineer will undertake maintenance and faulting activities across the network, carry out site surveys and safety audits, and produce the documentation required to support maintenance, faulting and project activity.
You’ll also contribute to quality improvement initiatives, provide training and support to colleagues and produce reports on maintenance and system performance. As a Field Systems Engineer, you’ll be part of a team helping to ensure ScotRail’s customer-facing systems are maintained safely and to the required standards.

What you bring
We’re looking for people who can demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Experience of working with railway Customer Information, Security and Retail Systems, together with knowledge of these systems and associated networking technologies.
- Railway engineering and terminal operations experience, including experience of Personal Track Safety disciplines.
- Experience producing Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Work Package Plans to support the safe delivery of work.
- Effective communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
- A UK Driving Licence
Experience using ScotRail's CAM system and Javelin, Vix and FareGo Remote Management Systems is also included within the role requirements; however, training will be provided on these systems.

Working Arrangements
This role operates on a 35-hour working week, Monday to Friday, with regular travel required to work locations across the ScotRail network
