What's the role about?
Field Team Leader | FMCG Field Sales
Love being out in stores driving results, but ready to take the next step into people leadership? Could you combine great in-store execution with coaching and supporting a field sales team?
Full Time, Permanent
Salary: £30,000 per annum + up to 10% bonus + company car
Working: 37.5hrs/week, Monday to Friday
Location: Liverpool and surrounds
Join Smollan as a Field Team Leader, working in partnership with Henkel to drive outstanding execution and performance across your territory.
This is a great opportunity if you enjoy the commercial side of field sales but are also ready for greater responsibility. It’s a genuinely blended role: you’ll spend much of your time managing your own priority store call file, building relationships and driving results, while also acting as the day-to-day contact for your field team - coaching, supporting, and helping them perform at their best.
What will you be doing?
- Managing your own call file of priority stores, building strong relationships with store teams, and delivering against Henkel objectives
- Driving excellent in-store execution and identifying opportunities to improve brand performance
- Acting as the first point of contact for your field team, supporting day-to-day queries and escalations
- Visiting colleagues in store to coach, develop, and improve individual performance
- Supporting the training and onboarding of new team members and ongoing development of the wider team
- Identifying performance gaps and providing practical coaching and support
- Ensuring consistent operational standards and ways of working across the territory
- Completing accurate store and team reporting and sharing useful competitor and market insight with the account team
What are we looking for?
You’ll be comfortable balancing your own sales and store responsibilities with supporting others. You don’t necessarily need extensive management experience - this could be an excellent next step for an experienced Sales Executive or similar who has already demonstrated an ability to coach, support, or influence colleagues.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
